DO BETTER

Emara Academic Solutions is a tutoring and academic consulting firm that specializes in developing cognitive skills, collaborating with students to achieve their academic goals.  To prepare for an exam, we diagnose and then target areas of difficulty with a highly personalized approach tailored to the type of learner and the test format.  For writing support, we coach students through the development of an essay with an analytic language arts model that generates sustainable results.

It is not uncommon for students to say and feel that they are comfortable with a concept, and then fail to perform on an evaluation.  This is a factor of both study, as well as teaching methods.  Unfortunately, many educators focus on passively showing instead of actively teaching students how to solve problems.  Unknowingly, they facilitate the impression of knowledge, rather than...

...correcting it.  With this year’s Ivy League acceptance rates at record lows, where Columbia, Harvard and Yale accepted 7% of their applicants, a deliberate approach to academic goals is imperative to being a competitive candidate.  It is best to build the cognitive skills required to be a high-performance student at an earlier age when children are still developing these competencies.  This will provide a foundation for the end of Middle School when students first take state-wide exams that become part of the High School transcript sent to colleges.  See our Emara Academic Solutions videos for study tips.

Dan B.
(a Writing client in January’09)
"He’s just so good at it… he’s like a machine, you give him a writing prompt and out comes an A paper."
Ben T.
(tutored regularly from August ’06 to June ’07 in Math and then College Admissions Essay Writing)
"[W. S. Emara] was involved and interested in my success. While other tutors I’ve had were impersonal time-watchers, my Emara Academic Solutions sessions wouldn’t even start until after some time talking with the family."
Ina R.
(mother of two students tutored in English in ’07)
“Besides the immediate results of higher English grades, the more striking results were long-term. Both of my children became more engaged students that take pride in their work raising scores in more than just English class.”
